Incheon National University Kyrgyzstan Overseas Volunteer Program
The Incheon National University Social Service Center (Director Lee Young-soo) carried out an overseas volunteer program in Kyrgyzstan from July 29 to August 10, 2025, for 11 nights and 13 days.
This year’s INU Global Social Contribution Team consisted of 20 undergraduate students from Incheon National University, selected through document screening and interviews, and two leaders. The team prepared for the overseas volunteer program through approximately three months of planning and team-based preparatory sessions. Together with students from Kyrgyz National University, a sister institution that signed an MOU with INU in 2024, they conducted educational volunteering, labor service, and cultural exchange activities for 5th to 7th grade students at village schools in Ripenka, Bagatrovka, and Ichkebulun, thereby further expanding exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
On the final day of the volunteer activities, a mini sports festival was held for 5th to 7th grade students from Ripenka, Bagatrovka, and Ichkebulun village schools, providing a warm opportunity to laugh and communicate together beyond different languages and cultures.
Song Ho-jun, the student leader of the 2025 INU Global Social Contribution Team (INUNI), shared his reflections: “Although our languages and cultures were different, through volunteering we all became one. We began this service to bring happiness to the children, but in the process, I myself experienced deep happiness and found it to be a valuable opportunity for growth.”
Director Lee Young-soo of the Incheon National University Social Service Center stated: “Through the process of overseas volunteering and cultural exchange, our students were able to experience solidarity and empathy, which became a foundation for their growth as socially responsible talents. Moving forward, we will continue to actively support sustainable international exchanges and overseas volunteer activities in order to fulfill our duty as a national university that contributes to the creation of public good and the cultivation of socially responsible individuals for the global community.”
