As part of the 2025 High School Education Contribution University Support Program, Incheon National University (President In Jae Lee) held the “INU Major Exploration Program” on August 6 (Wed) and 7 (Thu), both online and offline, where seven professors introduced their majors directly to high school students.

A total of 248 high school students nationwide (152 in-person, 96 online) participated over the two days, gaining valuable opportunities for major and career exploration.

The INU Major Exploration Program is a higher education career exploration initiative designed to help high school students, who are preparing to choose their majors, systematically understand the essence and characteristics of academic fields and design career paths that align with their aptitudes.

Professors who participated included: Professor Chae Kwan Jung (Department of English Language and Literature), Professor Chang Bum Jung (Department of Marine Science), Professor Hye Jin Cho (Department of Consumer Science), Professor Hyun Doo Jung (Department of Biomedical & Robotics Engineering), Professor Kyung Ae Jang (Department of Fine Arts), Professor Yoo Ah Shin (Department of History Education), and Professor Mi Ryung Han (Major of Molecular&Medical Sciecne, Department of Life Sciences). Each provided in-depth explanations of the academic features of their majors as well as diverse career opportunities.

In particular, the Department of Marine Science and the Department of Biomedical & Robotics Engineering offered visits to their active laboratories, while the Department of Fine Arts guided students to the on-campus gallery (Art Space IN) after the major sessions, offering practical insights for career exploration.

A participating third-year high school student remarked, “It was meaningful to attend lectures in actual university classrooms where major courses are held. I was able to learn in detail about specific majors related to my desired career path, understand the content taught in each department, and even grasp possible career directions, which was a great help in making my career decision.”
